2023 Cabernet Franc Newman Vineyard, Knights Valley
Cabernet Franc was my first wine-love, and oh, this vintage takes me back… it opens with aromas of clove and cigar box before the palate introduces subtle notes of molasses and root beer with hints of savory cooking spices. The finish is silky and a classic varietal representation. We filled only two Doreau Thierry Bordeaux barrels and aged the wine 28 months. Serve this now with grilled pork chops, smoked sausage, or even a simple Ratatouille. Drink now or cellar up to 15 years. 39 cases.

2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Flying J’s Vineyard Napa Valley, Coombsville AVA
Aromas of blackberry, vanilla and allspice jump from the glass to greet you. It is elegant and in a classic European style, where the Coombsville fruit is the meat of the dish and the new Quintessence French oak barrels are the spice rack (it was aged 28 months) The wine has elegance and velvety cola spices with hints of white sage on the palate. The lingering finish doesn’t disappoint. Enjoy with rosemary roasted lamb shank, a filet with gorgonzola sauce, or simply aged, hard cheeses with salumi. The tannins are well-integrated making it easy to open now although still cellar-worthy up to 18 years. 38 cases.

2023 Ben’s Blend, A Bordeaux-style Red Wine
The minute the aromas are released, you’ll know it’s going to be good! Hints of sweet, cherry tobacco and rich baking spices present themselves. The palate unfolds with creamy black and red fruit notes along with whispers of anise. Although approachable and readily delicious fine tannins suggest cellar time will reward you (up to 18 years). Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and some Merlot from St. Helena were blended for this vintage. Serve with rich and smokey cuts of meat like prime rib roast or something more reminiscent of a French vacation, like mouse pâté with flavorful, aged cheeses and crusty baguette. 40 cases.
